Kentucky veterans with 50% of more service-connected disability are authorized a discounted license.

The license includes the same licenses and permits as the Resident Sportsman’s License, plus additional deer permits.

Kentucky residents home on leave can fish for free without a license.

Be aware that effective July 15th, 2010, veterans with a 100% permanent and total rating may be exempt from overnight accommodations rate at Kentucky State parks. Proof of eligibility will need to be established to take advantage of this discount.

This is different from the “USA Military Discount” program that the state also offers:

Current and former members of the nation’s armed services can receive lodging discounts at Kentucky State Parks with the “USA Military Discount” program from Nov. 1 to March 31.

During the months of April through October, current and former members of the military can get a 15 percent lodging or camping discount.
